Ms. Gao Mei is a Pianist, an educator; Head of Piano Department of Music college at Capital Normal University. Member of piano Committee of Music Education Branch of China Education Society; Member of Chinese Musicians Association; council member of Beijing Musicians Association; Director of piano Basic Education Branch; Senior examiner of piano major of National Social Art Grade Examination; Visiting scholar at Morehead State University, USA.
Ms. Gao has successfully held solo piano recitals in Victoria Concert Hall in Singapore, USA and China, and also held lectures, concerts, or many music events in the world, recorded TV shows in Italy, Buchholz Music Festival in Germany, "Commemoration of the 60th Anniversary of the Suffering of Nanjing Compatriots” in USA, Australia - China Music festival in Australia, Celebrations for the 75th anniversary of ZaoBao in Singapore，Shenzhou Art Festival in HongKong, “Chinese New Year” in Russia, “Let the Future Sing”in Sweden，Taiwan Cross-Straits Choral Festival in Taiwan，Slav International Youth Day in Bulgaria, Vaasa Choir Festival in Finland, International Choral Union World Choral Exposition in Macao, The International Choral Festival in Nancy, France ect. Mei appeared in Carnegie Hall, USA; Sydney Opera House, Australia; Berlin King's Gendarmerie Square Concert Hall; Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall; Hong Kong City Hall; Singapore Esplanade Concert Hall; Vaudeville in Moscow, Russia; Kosakov Opera and Dance Theatre in Limsky, St. Petersburg; ect. In 2016, she has performed on the 15th anniversary of the Signing of the Treaty of Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation between China and Russia, and shook-hands with by President Xi Jinping and President Putin.
Ms. Gao frequently appeared on the stage, cooperated with many art music group，German Chamber Orchestra, China National Symphony Orchestra Chorus, China Central Opera and Ballet Theatre, China Philharmonic Male Chorus, China Youth Radio Choir, etc. Cooperate with musicians including Li Guangxi, Liu Bingyi, Ye Peiying, Luo Tian-Chan, Hu Baoshan, Wu Tianqiu, Jiang Jiaqiang, Deng Yu-hua, Geng Lianfeng, Li Yuanhua, Liu Shiming, Yang Hongji, Cheng Zhi, Dai Yu-qiang, Ding Yi, Wei Song, Du Ji-gang, Wang Xiufen, Wang Jing, Wang Xia, Ma Mei, Yang Yang, Xie Tian, Huang Huali, Wang Wei, You Hongfei, four brothers from China National Opera House etc.
She has received so many awards, “Outstanding Young Teacher” from Beijing Higher education Institute, “Outstanding Lecturer" and “Advanced Teacher's Virtue” from Capital Normal University etc. As a chief editor, she edited three editions of The National Music Curriculum Textbook for Colleges and Universities, and Teacher of National Satellite TV. She has published more than 40 audiovisual works. She is a training expert of the Guidance Committee of Performing Arts in colleges and universities of the Ministry of Education, and holds academic lectures in colleges and universities all over the country. Served as the judge of “Xing Hai Piano Competition” , "Little Golden Bell Awards" and other piano competitions, and as the vice chairman of the organizing committee and the deputy director of the jury for "Hope Cup" Piano Competition for young children every year in Beijing. Her students won many prizes in various domestic and international competitions. In 2016, Leading students to win the first prize in the Group Category and three students won the All-Rounds first prizes, and nine individual prizes in the National Music Education Undergraduate Basic Skills Competition held by the Ministry of Education.
