ZHANG,Yue

Yue Zhang is currently pursuing his Doctorate Degree in Piano performance at the University of Montreal under legendary concert pianist and pedagogue Dang Thai Son. He completed his Bachelor and Master degree (Distinction) in Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts under the tutelage of leading educator Gabriel Kwok.
 
As a soloist, Yue has performed in prestigious venues such as Carnegie Weill Hall in New York, Lithuanian National Philharmonic Hall in Vilnius. Sala Cecilia Meireles in Rio de Janeiro, Salle Bourgie in Montreal, and Shenzhen Concert Hall in China,etc. He was invited to give concert in Pordenone, Italy. The concert was recorded live and released as CD entitled “Hong Kong Piano Marathon Studium” and was broadcasted across cities in Europe by classical music channel radio 3 Rai.
 
As a soloist, Yue has collaborated with the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, Hong Kong Academy Symphony Orchestra, Xiamen Symphony Orchestra and Hong Kong Pan Asia Symphony Orchestra, and has appeared with conductors including maestro Modestas Pitrėnas, Shu-cheng Shi, Daye Lin, Alan Cumberland, among others. He also appeared as a young artist with veteran musicians including violist Richard Yongjae O’Neill, violinist Jin Wang and Hyuna Kim, and cellist Richard Bamping.
 
Yue has won 1st Prize at Chautauqua piano competition 2019, 1st Prize at HKGNA music competition Young Artists Division and Silver prize (General Category) at the 14th International Piano Competition in Asia(Tokyo).He has be accepted by famous piano festival such as Piano Texas, Chautauqua music festival, Walnut hill music festival. Yue is the awardee of The Talent Development Scholarship from The HKSAR Government and YAMAHA Scholarship, Graduate Scholarship of Music Faculty in Univeristy of Montreal.
