Having already been the winner of Verona International Piano Competition and Mayenne International Piano Competition, a prizewinner of Santa Cecília International Piano Competition in Porto, Ettlingen International Piano Competition and a Semifinalist of Hamamatsu International Piano Competition, the twenty-years-old Chinese pianist Xiaolu Zang is considered ​‘An exceptionally modern, open, accessible musician with a fine combination of flawless technique, sense of nuance and brilliant stage show’. [-​Ouest-France]  ​ He has rapidly begun his career as a concert pianist as he started captivating audiences both in Europe and in Asia. 
 
Xiaolu Zang has performed numerous concerts in China, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Greece, and has been invited to perform in several music festivals including Foundazione Arena di Verona, International Summer Academy of Mozarteum Salzburg, Beijing International Music Festival, BNP Paribas Music Festival, ‘Piano à Mayenne’ Music Festival, Festival de Dracenuits, Poros International Piano Festival, Leipzig Mendelssohn academy and has collabrated with Niedersächsisches Staatsorchester Hannover, Accademia Filarmonica di Verona, Fondazione Arena di Verona Orchestra, ‘Mihail Jora‘ Philharmonic Orchestra of Bacau and has worked together with Francesco Ommassini, Valtteri Rauhalammi, Florian Groß, Ovidiu Balan etc. 
 
He has performed in various concert halls include Beijing National Centre of Performing Arts, Beijing Concert Hall, Shanghai Grand Theatre, Beijing Steinway Hall, Wiener Saal in Salzburg, Concert Hall of Leipzig Mendelssohn University, Teatro dell' Osservatorio Bologna, Theatre Poros, Sala Maffeiana, Teatro Filarmonico Verona, Theatre Municipal Mayenne, Théâtre Scéne Conventionnée de Laval etc. 
 
Xiaolu Zang was born in Qinhuangdao, Hebei province in 1999. He held his first recital at the age of 10 and then started his professional studying at the Middle School attached to the Central Music Conservatory of China under Professor Lin Ye, during which he had won first prizes in several major national competitions. 
 
In 2017, he was admitted in Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media with an excellent high grade of his audition and continued his music studying in the world-renowned class of Professor Arie Vardi. 
 
He has performed in numerous masterclasses with Dang Thai Son, Bernd Goetzke, Andrea Bonatta, Pavel Gililov,  Klaus Hellwig, Jerome Lowenthal, Boris Petrushansky, John O’Conor, Alexander Korsantia, Vladimir Feltsman, Ignat Solzhenitsyn and Stefano Fiuzzi during his studying. He is also a successful chamber musician as the chamber mate of Flautist Yu Yuan. 
 
Mr. Zang is now living in Hanover, Germany. He is currently a soloist of the ‘Nijinski’ ballet production in Hanover, to perform both of Chopin’s concertos with Niedersächsisches Staatsorchester Hanover and M. Valtteri Rauhalammi and Staatsballett Hanover. His current concert tour includes recitals in Beijing, Mayenne, Bourgon, Laval (France), Verona, as well as concerts with Chamber Philharmonie Munich ‘da Capo’ and Verona Philharmonie. His first album in the label KNS Classical will be released in summer 2020.
